What a year.
It was important, it was difficult, and it was uneven.

2025 was a proper rollercoaster for us. When work came in, it hit hard; when it didn’t, everything went quiet. Most people in marketing had a tough year, between AI disruption and general economic gloom; demand was patchy. But despite that, we hit an all-time high in turnover. I can’t complain, especially since my attention was split.
Comus
This project smashed expectations.
It’s been hard – really hard – but absolutely worth it. We hit drama from all angles: sabotage, negativity, steep learning curves. We also found unexpected allies. We sold thousands of tickets, have a waiting list of businesses wanting in, made a profit after costs, and are on track to pay back our initial investment in year one.
We’re nowhere near done, but 2026 is shaping up to be a big year.
The Fifth
A solid start.
Brand done. Website designed. Build is almost complete. We’re planning a soft launch early next year. It’s been quietly ticking along in the background, nothing flashy, just steady progress.
Kan.House
This one closed out quietly.
We finished the final build in August, then wound it down. It’s been seven years, a long ride and a good one. Shutting it down doesn’t feel like failure; it feels like clearing space for what’s next. Neil’s off building Statlite ground stations up north, which is brilliant in its own right.
The Business Community
Aside from our own work, the broader picture has been rough.
Every week I meet business owners, big and small, through Chambers, networking groups, IoD dinners and the like. The mood is genuinely gloomy. Work is down, growth is sporadic, and negativity is everywhere.
Worse, there’s this undertow of resentment toward success. People who create wealth and jobs are being made to feel unwelcome here; whether it’s inheritance tax, rising labour costs, or fears that the government will simply take money out of pensions. The wealthy aren’t leaving in droves yet, but they’re definitely considering it. If they go, we’ll all feel it.
The World
Honestly? Really, really bad.
And I think it’s going to get worse before it gets better.
