Why This Journal Has No Images

I made a deliberate decision not to include images in this journal. Here are the reasons why:

I’m a designer

Most of my day-to-day work is visual. I spend my time building brands, designing products, and thinking about how things look and feel. I don’t need this space to do more of that.

This journal is for thinking

Once images are involved, there’s a temptation to create fluff. Contextless photos. “Here I am at this event” posts that add no real value. I want every post here to be intentional, documenting decisions, ideas, and lessons, not filling space.

Practicality

There’s also a practical reason. I write most posts on my phone. Keeping posts text-only makes the process simpler and easier to maintain consistently.

This isn’t social media

Most social platforms optimise for images and attention. This journal is intentionally different. It’s a place to write, think, and build in public, without the noise.

Think this post is worth talking about?

Or think I’ve completely lost the plot? Either way, email me at edwin@schofield.xyz

I read and reply to everything.
